Stop in and try a pour or bring home a bottle and get a luscious taste of France!

Winemaker’s notes:

Luscious, dark and dense, this is midnight in the glass and manna on the tongue. A blend of 40% Merlot, 35% Syrah and 25% Grenache. Deep, black fruits such as boysenberry take on an almost syrup-like richness, with mineral highlights that make this wine completely fresh and alive. Great balance, great vibrancy of fruit and tangy acidity.

Review:

“It is always a great bargain and the 2007 Les Amis de la Bouissiere is little short of sensational. Dark chocolate, black cherry, roasted meats, and toasted, salted pecans are dominant throughout this rich red, which retains a savory, saline brightness in its long finish that consistently sends you back for the next sip.” 91 Points, The Wine Advocate

Riscal 2006 Tempranillo

Spain is the place these days. The wine coming out of this appellation is magic, pure magic! This light violet colored wine was a very nice surprise for me. I simply love Tempranillo, but I don’t want to go broke in order to enjoy a nice one. This 100% Tempranillo has cherry, earth and cedar with a little candy on the nose. It’s a bit on the thin side with lots of tannins and a nice long finish, done nicely. This is a definite crowd pleaser and a great wine to bring to a dinner party.

LOT 205 Zinfandel

How do you get baked cherry, spice cake and leather all in one bottle? Well…LOT 205 is the answer! This wine shows bold personality with some toasty oak. It has a smooth and easygoing texture with full tannins and a brilliant garnet color. If you’re looking for pepper on this Zin, you won’t find it, however, the sweet notes of cola and fruit make it a fine match for chicken, pork, light pasta dishes as well as grilled beef. Stop in Kafevino and try a glass tonight! Cheers!

Sokol Blosser Evolution

Drum roll please….Muller-Thurgau, White Riesling, Semillon, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Muscat Canelli, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner I didn’t know quite what to expect with this one, being there is such a variety in the blend. Well…it was just the perfectsummer sipper and well balanced, very well balanced. It was easy. On the nose is honey, rose and a bit of cut grass. The slight hint of cream is a welcome touch on the finish. The acidity and that hint of sweetness is really perfect for a hot summer night.

We are featuring this wine on our new wine list at Kafevino, stop in and have a sip while sitting on our patio. This wine has something for everyone.
Cheers!

Kim Crawford Pinot Noir 2008

Kim Crawford does it again with the 2008 Pinot Noir, the bright crimson color stands out right away. On the nose you immediately get dark cherries, strawberries and a hint of smoke brought out from the oak. Very well balanced wine with good firm tannins giving this wine a nice weight. It has a nice lingering feeling on the palate, pairs well with red meats, roasted pork and vegetables.

Stop in Kafevino and experience this wonderful wine for yourself. Cheers!

Praxis Viognier 2007

Our new wine list at Kafevino is amazing and this wine is something to talk about! The aroma is like a fine perfume and carries citrus and light jasmine scents along with a hint of banana. If you normally prefer Chardonnay, this wine is a very pleasant alternative. The wine’s color is a pale straw with green highlights and the flavors of honeysuckle and stone fruit are accented with hints of vanilla, pear and guava. The finish is smooth with a subtle creaminess, not too heavy not too light, just right. Pairs nicely with our Trio of Spreads; stop in for a taste, a glass…or take a bottle home today!

Stonier Chardonnay 2005

Chardonnay is such a popular grape variety and with good reason. It ranges in styles from mineral lace to steely, with crisp apple notes to ones that are rich with butter and cream to styles with tropical fruits and everything in between. Any season is Chardonnay season and this Stonier is drinking quite well right now. It has a bright, succulent peach and citrus aroma with some nutty touches and nicely restrained oak. The palate is similarly fresh and fruity with a clean and zesty lemon signature, great for enjoying while sitting at our outdoor patio tables. Cheers!

Sharecropper’s Pinot Noir:

From the well-respected Owen Roe Winery, this red from Oregon opens with a focused cream cherry and a lithe, spicy finish that is understated, yet satisfying. This wine is remarkable for being solid without being over-bearing. This would be a lovely compliment for turkey, a savory chicken dish or a vinaigrette salad.
